Bush Did A Lot More Good Than Bad~ Second Installment of The Bush Thankathon!

When I stop to think about the new president elect coming in and then reflect back on 'who' is stepping out, it can be, let's say, a huge downer because the office will once again be degraded and so will our country. The conservatives who have been down on Bush for his mistakes to the point where they are basically throwing his whole presidency out the window should take a second look. I have a feeling after four years of Obama they will wish Bush were back.
When you look at the facts, Bush has done a lot more good than bad while in office and he deserves credit for those things and to be quite frank, I am shocked that more conservatives don't consider these things when they reflect on his presidency as a whole.
Here is a list of ten things he has done great while in office compiled by Fred Barnes. Of course I added 5 more things:
1. The Surge
2. His Character-"Courage", doing the right thing regardless of the cost to himself.
3. Ignoring the Kyoto Treaty. which was the right thing to do. It would have been a disaster if Bush would have jumped on the bandwagon.
4. Enhanced interrogation of terrorists. Thanks to Bush's water boarding and warrentless wiretapping we are safe.
5. We can't forget how Bush rebuilt presidential authority and brought dignity back into the office which was taken down by Clinton.
6. His unwavering support for Israel.
7. No Child Left Behind. Reading scores and math scores have gone up. OF course this was the compromise he had to do in order to 'do something' because the libs blocked his original plan of having vouchers.
8. He promoted democracy around the world.
9. He put up John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court.
10. He strengthened relations with east Asian democracies: Japan, South Korea, Australia.. Without making China mad. He also forged strong ties with India.
Rivka's add ons:
11. Bush held his ground on Stem Cell Research.
12. Bush freed an oppressed people both in Iraq and Afghanistan.
13. Bush has enabled Iraq to be a free nation which is crucial in the middle east in fighting the war on terrorism and spreading democracy. Iraq was the right place to go to fight the enemy. As a result, more and more people are turning from Islam and embracing Jesus Christ as their savior in the middle east.
14. Bush has put a huge dent in the power of AlQaeda by having the guts to keep going after them and not backing down in Iraq.
15. Bush cut taxes, got rid of the marriage penalty and raised the child tax credit. He gave us the money back that Clinton stole. We should never have had a surplus. Surplus means the government took too much of our money which put a lot of small business owners like us in the hole. Bush put us back on our feet soon after entering the White House.
Tomorrow's post may be on the subject of how Bush's tax relief made a huge difference in our life.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD MAKES STAFF CUTS!! Funding declines in part due to Madoff.
Part of Planned Parenthood’s funding declines stem from the closing of the
Florida-based Picower Foundation, which shut down in December because its assets
were managed by Bernard Madoff. The $1 billion foundation was one of the few
major funders of reproductive rights issues.
