Give 'em hell, George

I found this article on The American Thinker ; It truly describes what I saw in Bush as he gave a most brilliant State of the Union speech.

Give 'em hell, George
January 31st, 2006

One of the great ironies beneath the hatred by Democrats of President George W. Bush is that the president whom Bush most closely resembles is one of the great heroes of the Democratic Party, President Harry S Truman. The similarities between Presidents Bush and Truman are so obvious that it is a wonder that they have not been highlighted earlier.

These two men, disdained during their presidencies, faced plummeting poll numbers, presided over unpopular foreign military actions, and were committed to using American power to promote and defend democracy even when other countries objected. Each won reelection and pursued his policies despite fierce attacks from opponents and eroding political support within his own party.

Like President Bush, President Truman was regarded as an intellectual lightweight. Both were thought of as inarticulate and bumbling in their speech. Each shared a combination of Southwestern and Midwestern twang to go along with the geographic values of their home regions.

The mainstream media reviled both President Bush and President Truman. Yet each won highly controversial elections. Fortunately in 1948 even oppositional mainstream media did not accuse Truman of electoral fraud. Can you imagine what David Boies, Warren Christopher, and Al Gore could have made of the infamous “Dewey Defeats Truman” headline had they been working for candidate Thomas Dewey?

Truman and Bush both believed in the projection of American power throughout the world. In the pursuit of that power each used the United Nations when the UN was useful to the United States – Truman in Korea and Bush in Afghanistan. Yet each did not hesitate to create alternative coalitions of the willing when the situation demanded. Think of NATO for Truman and Iraq for Bush.
And at times each was willing for the US to go it alone, as with the Truman Doctrine to save Greece from a Communist takeover.
Each involved the United States in what became in political terms an unpopular war. In Korea there are still nearly 35,000 American troops over fifty years after the cease-fire. General Eisenhower ran against the war by saying that if elected he would “go to Korea,” and part of his success came from campaigning against that war. Currently the opposition party believes it can defeat or weaken Bush by running against the war in Iraq.

Truman was president when another nation – The Soviet Union – developed nuclear weapons, partially with the help of Leftist scientists in the West. Bush is president while another hostile and dangerous opponent – Iran – is attempting to develop nuclear weapons, also with the help of sympathetic scientists outside their country.

No president had lower job approval ratings than President Truman, 22% at their lowest, yet he demonstrated his greatest political strength when he campaigned directly against the opposition party – The “Do Nothing” 86th Congress. President Bush’s job approval ratings declined after attempting to win opposition leader Senator Harry Reid’s approval with the Harriet Meirs nomination to the Supreme Court. He too has been at his strongest when engaged in a campaign directly against the opposition party, as in 2002 and 2004, and weakest when he has attempted compromise with them.

Finally, no presidents have been greater friends and supporters of Israel than President Harry S Truman and President George W. Bush. Truman made the United States the first nation to recognize the State of Israel. Bush has supported Israel’s efforts to protect itself with the security fence and had been the first president to demand real reform from the Palestinian Authority.

Some may say that differences in domestic matters eclipse their foreign policy and national security similarities. President Truman was a liberal while President Bush is a conservative. Yet President Truman angered the unions when he used the Taft-Hartley Act to end the steel strike, and President Bush initiated the largest increase in Medicare since its inception, each angering many members of their respective parties.

In retrospect President Truman is now a revered figure. His inarticulateness is now seen as “plain speaking.” His stubbornness is now seen as determination. His actions in Korea helped spread democracy and produce all the “Asian Tiger” economies of that region. And his initiatives outside of the UN, such as NATO and in Greece, are regarded as huge American successes that contributed greatly to peace and stability.

Time will tell whether President Bush, like President Truman, will be as revered by history as he was reviled while in office. I am inclined to believe he will.

Conspiracy of Nations?

I have questions, many questions as to how big this war on terror really is. Is it more than Al-qaeda?

How much is at stake for America if we back down; If we show any signs of weakness?

If we continue to fight about the legality of the tools we use to keep ourselves safe, how humane we treat terrorists, and about whether or not our president lied about going into Iraq; We will be seen as weak and vulnerable. Thanks to Murtha, Durbin and some of the other treasonous members in congress we are seen as becoming a weak nation. The more they blab about how corrupt Bush is, and that everything he has done on the war on terror is wrong, the more appetizing it looks to attack us. Every one knows that a divided nation is a nation that could fall.

The libs have been wrong.. Recently, we have learned from an x-Iraqi general that indeed Sadaam had WMD's.. He just moved them to Syria. We haven't heard.. "Where are the WMD's" lately have we?

Anyone with half a brain can deduct that during the 18 month timeline we were dickering around with the U.N. getting 'approval' to go into Iraq, Sadam was moving his weapons.
Looks like we were right. Sounds like Hans Blix knew it too.

One of the tidbits of classified intel may very well divulge Sadaam was tied to Al-qaeda. My guess is that he was; After all, they used Iraq to train their men.
Why do you think Sadaam would let them train in Iraq? Do you think he was being cordial, or do you think there may have been a 'give and take'? I don't think money was the prize for an oil rich nation. Maybe Sadam wants to be included in bringing America to her knees?

Soon we will find out how Osama was connected with Iraq, and once again the libs spoke too soon and put their foot in their mouth.

There is obviously a threat growing. My 'conspiracy theory' is based on what has been going on in the world since 2001.

So far my theories have been proven right. I guessed Iran was going to get plutonium from another country and use their own plant as a smokescreen.
I was right:

"While the U.S. and E.U. nations are scrambling to convince Iran to abandon its program of uranium enrichment and debating bringing the Islamic Republic before the U.N. Security Council, Tehran may be in the process of directly purchasing the plutonium it needs to make a bomb from North Korea, intelligence sources say. "

The axis of evil has been growing including cuba, as quoted I
n a speech from John Bolton at the Heritage Foundation:

"Castro has repeatedly denounced the U.S. war on terrorism. He continues to view terror as a legitimate tactic to further revolutionary objectives. Last year, Castro visited Iran, Syria and Libya -- all designees on the same list of terrorist-sponsoring states. At Tehran University, these were his words: "Iran and Cuba, in cooperation with each other, can bring America to its knees. The U.S. regime is very weak, and we are witnessing this weakness from close up."

The threat is growing, and my theory is it will eventually come to a head. If Al-qaeda can't bring us down alone, then the axis of evil and other rogue nations will work with them to make it possible.

Here is a
snippet of what the libs were saying in 2001-2002 about how the 'axis of evil' was lame and not really a threat.

"There is no doubt that the leaders of Iran, Iraq and North Korea -- as with leaders from many other nations -- share a certain fear of and hostility toward the United States. But there is absolutely no indication that the three states in question have conspired together to fight the United States or to cooperate militarily. Indeed, President Bush reportedly was obliged to eliminate language from his speech suggesting such ties because U.S. intelligence agencies were unable to find any proof of a connection.
If anything, the three states are more divided than they are united."

In 2006, I beg to differ. They have banded together to provide one another with the tools to bring America down.

Bush was right in 2001 when he called Iraq, Iran and N. Korea the axis of evil. Some how they are connected with Al-qaeda in their quest to knock us out, and they may have some help from Russia and China.

We don't have all the evidence because we will never get to see the classified intel. I think the Dems better hold their tongues before accusing Bush of the things they have accused him of. Eventually, it will be known.. When? Who knows.

What I have learned is I can trust Bush to defend us in this war because everything he said has happened or is happening. The dems have been proven wrong over time. Every slander they have spouted against Bush has been wrong. If they don't get on the band wagon and unite in our efforts against terrorists and rogue countries who plot evil against us, they will weaken our resolve and make us vulnerable.

Revka gets a mention!

Recently, one of my favorite partners in crime, Bloviating Zeppelin, received an honorable mention on a pretty prestigious news site. However, after reading his post, I decided to look up my site and see if there were any formidable mentions about my blog.

I found it! A quote was taken from an old post I wrote about the possibility of Lawrence banning Cell Phones: "So far, the Dems have taken away the right to 'choose' to smoke in public places. They are trying to ban cell phone use in cars. They are trying to tell us we shouldn't buy SUV's or vans.. It is one thing to say this, but to try and legislate it is dangerous."--Revka's take

The article was dated back in October, but none-the-less, it is nice getting a mention.

This is part of what makes blogging so much fun!

The truth about Helen

Her face says it all.

Oops! I should refrain because I am beginning to engage in a personal attack, which is the right of a Liberal, not a conservative.

Have you ever thought about why Bush doesn't take her questions? Maybe it is because she is not a journalist anymore, she is an opinion columnist.

Thomas calls Bush a coward for not taking her questions. Bush is taking the high ground because he is not following suit by allowing her to make more of a circus of it.

Observing Bush, I tend to lean toward the fact that he won't take her questions because she isn't a journalist, however, It may be simply because she is annoying and rude.

Even as a journalist she would happily vomit her socialistic propaganda during the meetings, and
eternally receive critical acclaim as the 'dear' of the Presidential press conferences':

Arguably, Thomas gets kid gloves because of her advanced age. Yet aging Senators Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms consistently serve as fodder for late-night comedians' "growing old" jokes. But Helen Thomas gets a no-fly zone.

Why not grant Clinton aide-turned-critic columnist/Fox TV analyst Dick Morris a ringside seat near the presidential podium? Why not, during the Clinton years, assign a front-row seat to columnist George F. Will, who once suggested Clinton a rapist, and pronounced him the country's "worst" president ever?

in Thomas's case, we know her "personal feelings." Now that we know, she loses credibility in performing the most important function of a free press – to serve as our watchdog over government.

She was known as the comedic 'character' who would lighten up the atmosphere, when in reality she was a snake in the grass; setting the stage for further attacks from the left.

Most liberals say.."She was tough on Clinton"..

Here is tough on
Clinton:

HELEN THOMAS, United Press International: What do the American people think of a presidential campaign in which a day at the White House is sold for $250,000 a couple, and the Republican Party sells a season ticket of access to Capitol Hill for $250,000?

There is more evidence of
Helen's bias':

On Oct. 9, 2001, before the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, Helen Thomas introduced former President Bill Clinton at a gathering of worshipful supporters. Shedding any doubt of where her politics lie, Thomas gushed, "He is the man from Hope, and that is what he has given us, hope ... He [has] also brought unprecedented prosperity to our nation, and because of that, President [Bush] can use the surplus Mr. Clinton left behind to pay for many of the nation's needs in this time of crisis." And to tie it up in a nice big bow, Thomas ended the coronation with, "We miss him."

So Thomas credits Clinton with the economic boom of the '90s, completely neglecting the role played by Republicans. Remember Clinton's $31 billion stimulus package, touted as necessary for an economic recovery? Congress defeated it, yet the economy boomed. Remember Hillary's attempt to grab one-seventh of the nation's economy via HillaryCare, a horrendous intrusion of government that threatened economic disaster? Congress stopped it. Clinton signed the immensely successful Welfare Reform Act of 1996 with more Republican support than Democratic, with party members calling it immoral and predicting starvation and death for the nation's poor. And, yes, Clinton signed NAFTA and GATT, but again receiving more Republican support than Democratic.

Thomas ignores this, crediting Clinton with the economy as a rooster credits himself with the sunrise.
But this places Thomas firmly on the idea-giving side of the aisle, not on the news or reporting side.

I think maybe
Larry Elder may have a point.

So, with larry, I concur:

Sorry, Helen.

Israel victorious

I must remind you that we are at war, folks. We must remain steadfast in a time of uncertainty.

The terrorists brought it to our soil, and they have made it clear this is a holy war.. The war against infidels, and Zionists; Israel and America.
In their minds this is the start of the war you can read about in the Koran, and Iran's leader thinks he is the one who will lead it.

Today the palestinians elected a tyrant to lead them. This is a significant day. It is all coming to a head in the Middle east and I do believe they are ready to band together to try to take Israel.

It is beginning to look pretty scarey as the scene may become nuclear. I mean against the Arab countries trying to take out Israel.

I certainly hope not, and I do think Israel will have to pre-empt if she becomes aware of any upcoming attacks.

Israel is a little sliver of land. Encased around her are her enemies, yet they haven't been able to take her out.

The socialists in our country, and in other countries abroad think Israel should keep turning over land to the Palestinians. There is a sense of 'sympathy' for the palestinian plight; Even in the U.S.A. while they were dancing in the streets at the news of the slaughter of 3000 of us.

The U.N. has no sympathy for Israel's plight. They are pro-palestinan. The world seems to be pro-palestinian, and anti-semitism is growing.

We forget who is pro-palestinian.. Osama and his thugs, the leader of Iran, the old leader of Iraq, and even Syria..

You can crush America to get to Israel, but the land flowing with milk and honey has been protected by someone whom you have mis-understood, and vainly martyred yourselves for, for so long.

Israel wants peace, you want their land..Israel gives some to you, but you want it all. You have made known your intentions to slaughter them as well.

You tell me who are the real war mongers are.

American Idol-Paris Bennett

Paris Bennett, Daughter of the famous Ann Nesby, is truly the best contestant they have ever had.

Normally, I don't like to expose my like for American Idol. I am a musician/singer, and I like the show..

Of course, i like 24 much better.

I tend to watch American Idol hoping to see the next 'unique' voice that will become famous with a sound like no other in the pop world today. I haven't seen it yet. Until last night!
I would never post about American Idol, but folks you must follow this girl.. Paris Bennett, a 17 year old girl with a spine-tingling voice. I think even
Bloviating Zeppelin, the king of music in our little circle of usual suspects, would find her to be truly talented.

I tend to gravitate toward singers that give me goosebumps. Joss Stone for one.. However, Paris Bennett, only 17 years old and sweet as can be, is a true contender with the major leagues. I believe in this girl, and would buy her album.. She literally sent chills up and down my spine.

I have never heard a contestant like this.. This girl has a voice of gold and is cute to boot; reminiscent of the old Jazz classic singers mixed with a seemingly 'veteran'/whitney houston control; But without the same old, same old, pop sound.. Mariah carey, empty sound.. It brings you chills when she sings.. It hits your soul.. That to me is the mark of a legend.

If you don't watch idol, you should at least when the competition starts and vote for this girl. If she doesn't win I will be shocked. She is the best they have had since they started.
She puts the rest to shame.

Here is a clip from MSNBC:

The judge all lost their minds over Paris Bennett, the 17-year-old daughter of former Sounds of Blackness lead singer Ann Nesby.
The way Randy gushed over Nesby before the audition, Bennett probably could have gone onstage and sang nursery rhymes without blowing her chance at the next round.
Of course, she did no such thing. In fact, she sang so well that Paula's only response was "Will you bless us with another song?" Not surprisingly, she did, and was rewarded with the golden ticket.

Of course, I have missed the opportunity ot hear Ann Nesby, but now I am curious. If her daughter sounds anything like her mom, then her mom must be incredible.

Hats off to Paris!

Hooray for Democracy!

Another picture that says it all!

This is to the libs/Feminatzi's who are for 'Womens' rights', yet sympathize with the Taliban, because the mean, nasty American 'occupiers' want to spread freedom and democracy.

"The World Without Zionism" conference

Last fall, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for Isreal to be wiped off the face of the earth.

Ahmadinejad addressing the Tehran conference Oct. 26, 2005.

A news clip from World Net Daily:

It wasn't just a world without Zionism and Israel that Ahmadinejad and his friends in Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and other terrorist groups were envisioning. It was a world without the United States of America.

"Is it possible for us to witness a world without America and Zionism?" he asked. "But you had best know that this slogan and this goal are attainable, and surely can be achieved."

What is he talking about?

Iran has developed a strategic "war preparation plan" for what it calls the "destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization."

Winston Churchill

"Still, if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed ; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves."

At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America." -- Bill Clinton explains to a Long Island, N.Y., business group why he turned down Sudan's offer to extradite Osama Bin Laden to America in 1996 .

Bush

Bush.. One of the best looking presidents since JFK.

While I am waiting for permission to use some pictures for my next post, I saw something I had to post. I felt I had to 'come out' and let everyone know my secret.

I stole this picture of Bush from Chatterbox's fun post today..

Had to post it.. Yes, this is a secret of mine..Is he not awesome? I am telling you I have never had a crush on a president before, but Bush is totally cute. He is attractive and has strength, and is funny.. What more could you ask for?

Burnt, crispy toast.

This from Reuters:

EU powers began circulating a draft resolution on Wednesday for a February 2 meeting of the U.N. nuclear watchdog asking it to report Iran to the Security Council, but Russia was seeking moves that stopped short of a formal referral.

The EU draft resolution drew scorn from Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The governing board of the International Atomic Energy Agency will hold an emergency meeting that day on Iran's nuclear work at the request of European Union powers, an IAEA spokesman said.

France, Britain, Germany and the United States are expected to push to have Tehran referred to the U.N. Security Council after it resumed research that could be used for generating electricity or making atomic bombs.

But EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said European states were considering a Russian proposal that could delay a formal referral of Iran to the council.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to Washington, Solana said Russia had suggested the IAEA emergency meeting should call for a special U.N. Security Council session to debate Iran's case, but that there be no formal referral to the council at that time.

He acknowledged "We're talking to the Russians" about the proposal, which would have the Iran case return to IAEA jurisdiction after the Security Council debate. But he said there were many unanswered questions and no decision.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin did not specify what action they expected the IAEA to take at its February 2 meeting.

"There is the issue of whether it goes to the U.N. Security Council -- this is a question that has to be answered," Merkel said. "I think we have to think step by step, and above all send a signal to Iran that shows the international community won't accept it if Iran doesn't respect the commitments that are expected of it and the promises it has made."

Villepin said a referral to the Security Council could not be excluded "today" but suggested the door remained open for further diplomacy.

Iran slammed the European draft resolution.

"It is clear this is politically motivated," the Iranian president said when asked about the text drafted by France, Britain and Germany that diplomats said had so far only been seen by U.S. and EU officials.

"We are asking them to step down from their ivory towers and act with a little logic," the 48-year-old leader told reporters.

The West suspects Iran is seeking nuclear arms. Tehran says its atomic program aims only to generate electricity.

'NOT MUCH TO TALK ABOUT'

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said nuclear weapons were against Islamic teachings, as well as Iranian interests, but he vowed to pursue atomic energy.

The United States and EU said they saw no point in further talks with Iran and it was time for the Security Council to tackle the issue, ratcheting up diplomatic pressure on Tehran and opening the door to eventual sanctions.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said there was "not much to talk about" and Solana, who she hosted for talks, agreed.

Iran on Tuesday proposed more talks with the Europeans, who called off the negotiations last week after Tehran removed U.N. seals on uranium enrichment equipment.

Rice, speaking before talks with Solana, said the EU had made clear Iran had crossed an important threshold.

But previous EU predictions that the IAEA board would send the Iran dossier to the council as soon as early next month were "looking a bit sick," a top EU diplomat said.

U.S. and European officials say a majority on the IAEA board favors referral, but they want as much support as they can muster from Russia, China and other sceptics.

Iran has begun to lobby developing nations on the IAEA board ahead of any vote. Ahmadinejad is going to Syria on Wednesday, his oil minister is visiting India and other Iranian officials are in Egypt and South Africa.

An EU diplomat said the draft text asks Iran "to help the (IAEA) clarify questions regarding possible nuclear weapons activities" and calls on IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei "to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Security Council."

Some Western officials say simply hauling Iran to the Security Council for censure could prompt a change of heart in Tehran, seen as keen to avoid pariah status.

Any move to use full-scale sanctions against Iran, let alone military action, could send world oil prices rocketing and reopen some of the international rifts opened by the Iraq war.

Do you really think they will do anything to Iran? I don't. Sanctions, talk and some other whimpy stuff, but that will be about it. It will take Isreal, or us to put words into action. This guy is a total psycho who wants to either nuke Isreal, or hand of some nukes to the terrorists to hit us. Do you honestly think he will cooperate with sanctions, or anything else they do other than military action?

Our downfall will come from our 'love of money', hence oil.. We are more concerned about what this will do to oil prices going up if we take military action, than the annhialation of millions of people. This psycho keeps wanting to come back to the table because it is BUYING HIM TIME.. HELLO? Do you think he/the terrorists don't have that figured out in their plan?

Isreal or America better do something to stop them and quit messing around, wasteing time going through the proper channels, or Isreal and America are burnt toast.

America-Distracted

The republicans and Democrats are jumping on the reform wagon while our nation is at war. The republicans have taken the bait of the left, and Americans are distracted.

While the enemy watches with glee, Congress is fighting over who is the most corrupt. Enemy Nations laugh calling us weak, and use it as propoganda among their people.

The terrorists and communist leaders salivate when they see the liberals hell bent on obstructing our presidents' efforts to protect our nation by watering down the patriot act, and calling for an investigation of the NSA wiretaps. All the while conveniently undermining our men and women who are dying to preserve our freedoms.

There will always be Bankrupt politicians, racial injustice, stomping on the poor. We can't berid all the evils in the world.. This is sin, we are in a fallen world..

We have one chance to preserve our freedom and remain a free nation, and we can't blow it by raising social injustice above protecting our country. We won't have the chance to make an impact righting some of the wrongs if we are found sleeping and are attacked again. Tens of millions of Americans of every race and background won't be alive.

The most important issue in 2006 is the war; world war III. The libs have made it abundantly clear where they stand. They are still the democrats of the Clinton administration, they are not truly progressive. They are weak and indecisive as their decisions are based on polls and world opinion.

They are telling us to back off in Iraq. "Set a time table at least" is what they say. Must I remind you of this:

The al-Qaeda terrorists were listening. In a 1998 interview, Osama bin Laden told ABC News reporter John Miller: "We have seen in the last decade the decline of the American government and the weakness of the American soldier who is ready to wage Cold Wars and unprepared to fight long wars. This was proven in Beirut when THE MARINES FLED AFTER TWO EXPLOSIONS. It also proves they can run in less than 24 hours, and this was also repeated in Somalia. We are ready for all occasions. We rely on Allah."

We can't lose the house and the senate to these pandering, socialist leftists. If we have a government who won't allow pre-emptive attacks because they pander to the UN and extremists who don't believe in war at any cost, well.. it is obvious how the terrorists and other rogue nations will see us.. Weak..

A senior Israeli official who is often asked to speak to fledgling American diplomats headed to Arab countries told me one of the main lessons he tries to teach them is to never apologize, because the Arabs consider it a sign of weakness. It's a lesson that William Jefferson Clinton never learned.

If we are weak on terror, we will cease to remain a free nation.

Lest we forget:

On February 26, 1993, eight months prior to the Mogadishu attack, al-Qaeda terrorists had struck the World Trade Center for the first time. Their truck bomb made a crater six stories deep, killed six people and injured more than a thousand. The planners’ intention had been to cause one tower to topple the other and kill tens of thousands of innocent people. It was not only the first major terrorist act ever to take place on U.S. soil, but—in the judgment of a definitive account of the event—"the most ambitious terrorist attack ever attempted, anywhere, ever."

Six Palestinian and Egyptian conspirators responsible for the attack were tried in civil courts and got life sentences like common criminals, but its mastermind escaped. He was identified as Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, an Iraqi Intelligence agent. This was a clear indication to authorities that the atrocity was no mere criminal event, and that it involved more than individual terrorists; it involved hostile terrorist states.

Yet, once again, the Clinton Administration’s response was to absorb the injury and accept defeat. The president did not even visit the bomb crater or tend to the victims. Instead, America’s commander-in-chief warned against "over-reaction." In doing so, he telegraphed a clear message to his nation’s enemies: We are unsure of purpose and unsteady of hand; we are self-indulgent and soft; we will not take risks to defend ourselves; we are vulnerable.
HENCE.. 9-11

Remember, this is the face of the Democratic party. Don't get distracted with the corruption bit, they are too weak a party to be running our country in day such as this.

'Fair-Share' or Communism?

It has happened folks! Walmart stores in Maryland are being forced to raise the wages of it's workers via a new law Maryland just passed: Here is a snippet from an article in the Lawrence Journal World.

The state’s Legislature on Thursday passed a law that directs firms with more than 10,000 employees to spend at least 8 percent of their payrolls on employee health benefits. The law targeted Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, whose low pay and scant benefits have drawn widespread criticism.

This is unbelievable and is communistic to say the least! This is going to be huge because it isn't effecting walmart, but all companies with more than 10,000 employees!

Worse yet, apparently, 30 more states are considering this law:

In at least 30 other states, plans are under way to draft and introduce similar “fair share” laws.

Yes, it gets worse. You might be saying.. at least I hope not, but you could be thinking that it is just the big companies and they can afford it.. No big deal..
Wrong, there are some of those states wanting small business to follow suit:

A proposal in Rhode Island would require companies with 1,000 or more employees to spend 8 percent of their payrolls on health benefits. A bill in Washington state would require companies of 5,000 or more to spend 9 percent of payroll on employee health care

To rein in state Medicaid costs for the uninsured, which now rival spending for education, supporters say it’s important that large companies provide adequate coverage for workers and their families.

Who gave the government the right to impose rules regarding benefits and wages on business in a free market?

When you own a buisness, it is your right to decide how much you want to pay your employees. You can pay them minimum wage, which I can't stand anyway, or you can pay them over and above depending on how much good they do for your company via their work ethics.

It is simple, liberals, if you aren't getting paid what you think you are worth.. QUIT and move on to another business who will validate your work.

Support Bush!

Over the weekend my husband and I had a chance to meet Alex, a man who is back from Iraq. He was in the special forces there. He was shot 2 times in the back, and is considered 90% disabled although you would never notice it.

We assumed Alex was a liberal as most are in Lawrence. After he told my husband he was a vet and had been in Bosnia and Iraq, he began speaking about how his pay was lower when Clinton was in office as opposed to his pay being higher now that Bush is in office.

He also spoke about how Clinton screwed up in Mogadishu. Then, he apologized to my husband thinking he was a liberal like most in Lawrence. Of course, my husband didn't hide his 'ideology', and I think Alex was relieved.

He was discouraged about how the msm is reporting about Iraq, and doesn't like Lawrence because of the wackos here.

He is getting a degree at KU; However, while at Ku he overheard people talking about losing 2000 soldiers, and how wrong it was. He told them that isn't very many, and they about started a fight with him.

While at Ku he has had to endure his truck being vandalised, and due to the nature of the vandalization, Alex knew it was because he was in the Military. (There has been vandalism in Lawrence at the Navy recruitment center as well).

This ignited a fire in me to even think about anyone dishonoring a vet! This man took 2 bullets for the idiots who vandalized his truck, and he would do it again if he wasn't considered disabled.

Any Liberal who says they support our troops, yet 'feels' we shouldn't be there is wacked out. You can't be supportive of a person whom you 'feel' is doing the wrong thing.

We need to take a stand, and stand up for Bush, for our Military and the war against Terror. If we buy into all the lies of the MSM regarding NSA and the Dems get their way with impeachment, it is highly possible a Dem could be elected in 08', not withstanding an overturn of power on 06'.
I am not scared, or fearful, but more determined to do my part in the blogosphere to fight the good fight against the left. They can't win in 06', or 08' or our nation may not be free after they are done with it.

Kennedy should apologize

Kennedy needs to apologize to the honorable judge Alito and his family.

After reading this article in the Washington Times today, it seems the documents Kennedy so desperatly needed to investigate showed nothing.

"Judge Alito's name never appeared in any document," said Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, who secured access to the documents without a subpoena.

Are you still "PERPLEXED?" senator biden?

The CAP records contained cancelled checks for subscriptions to the group's magazine, but none from Judge Alito. It also contained lists of board directors and contributors.
"The files contain minutes and attendance records from CAP meetings in 1983 and 1984, just before Samuel Alito listed the organization on his job application, but Samuel Alito did not attend any of those meetings," Mr. Specter said. "He's not even mentioned in the minutes."

Alito is not even mentioned in the minutes. Kennedy, are you man enough to send out a formal apology to his wife for accusing him of being a biggot, racist and a chauvinist?

Liberals exposed

Watching Schumer salivate with an 'I got ya!' look on his face while trying to pin Alito on the abortion issue is almost too much for a truth-seeker to bear.

Why do these liberals think their ideology is what should be shoved down our throats and embraced?

They say they don't want an activist judge, yet when Alito repeats over and over that it depends on the case and he keeps an open mind on all issues, they cop a nut and tell him he is 'GOING to overturn Roe v. Wade'.

They think he is going to overturn Roe v. Wade because it was a legislative decision made by activist judges. They know Alito won't look at the case with an agenda in mind. They don't like the fact that he is open minded about it.

When it is brought up before the supreme court again, Alito will look at all sides and make his decision based on the facts set before him and the constitution, not by his personal views. Schumer and the gang know that and it scares them.

The liberals say they want a non-activist judge. What they really want is a liberal ideologue who will uphold Roe v. Wade even if all the facts given, support overturning it.

I not only commend Alito for his brilliance in answering the questions, but his ability to stay seated and not jump up and smack them for their attacks on his person, and his integrity.

The missing link

Folks, I do believe the main stream media has arrived! I think they may have found the key.. The key to put Bush behind bars.

This is old news here in Lawrence, and when I read it back in December, I was hoping it wouldn't get out in the main stream media, but somehow it got out and is on the Drudge Report.. Gee, I wonder why?

Grant Goodman, a retired professor at KU, is saying his private mail has been opened by Homeland Security. He is mad and feels the evil Bush administration purposefully invaded his privacy. Obviously, Mr. Goodman deems it necessary to protect Amercian citizens' from Bush and his crony 'spies'.

This is the 'missing link' the main stream media has been dying to find.

If he had nothing to hide why is he upset?

If it were me I would feel protected knowing they were doing everything necessary to protect our country, and as long as the letter is in tact I wouldn't give a flip. Unless I were a flaming liberal who hated Bush, and wanted to make a huge deal out of this to raise the ire of liberals everywhere who want him impeached.

Again, another attempt to say.."See, Bush does spy on the typical person who is not a terrorist in the United States." "This is illegal!" "Impeach him, Impeach him!"

Update: I was right in my suspicions that Mr. Goodman is on a mission. Apparently, Goodman is the one who contacted the major news outlets. He IS one of those left-wing ex-professors at KU willing to do anything because he hates Bush.
Below is a snippet I took out of an article that appeared in the Journal world this morning:

In recent weeks, Goodman has also told his story to The Progressive, a liberal magazine, MSNBC.com, Reuters and other news organizations. The Drudge Report linked to the MSNBC story on Monday, spreading the story further.

“I purposely gave the letter to the newspaper in hopes that others would come forward with their experiences,” he told The Progressive.

Tuesday night, Goodman said he also had been contacted by Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” The Associated Press and CNBC, among other news outlets, and that he had been busy doing radio interviews with stations across the country.

Bird poop and Global warming

Do your car a favor. Don’t park near a tree.
If you do, you may find it covered with bird — What’s the word? — poop.

The most ridiculous item of today has been an article i stumbled upon in the Lawrence Journal world.

Evidently, there is a tree-hugging Liberal who really believes the overabundance of Robin poop is one of the evidences of Global warming.

“There are a lot of robins in town,” said Mark Robbins, a bird expert at Kansas University’s Natural History Museum.

Robins, he said, have a particular fondness for the berries on cedar and hackberry trees. Both are common in Lawrence.

“What’s happening is you’ve got a lot of birds eating a lot of berries, and that makes for a lot of bird poop,” Robbins said.

Starlings, too, share some of the blame, he said, “But it’s mostly robins.”

The influx, he said, is a consequence of global warming.

“I know that’s subject to debate, but here at the Natural History Museum we believe the data,” Robbins said.

Geez... I thought I had heard it all. Well, there you have it folks, (as Rush would say), we are going to have to deal with more cat 5 hurricanes, glaciers melting, severe weather, and bird poop on our cars because of the stupid human beings who have polluted the world, and of course...Because of the Bush administration.

It is George Bush's fault a Robin unloaded on my car!

Iran is next

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: The President of Iran.

I took this quote from an article in World Net Daily.

In recent weeks, the country’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has repeatedly and publicly called for the destruction of a democratic country that is an important American ally, Israel, and spoken of the achievability of “a world without America.”

This is why we need to vote out those wacked out liberals: The ones who want us to get permission from the corrupt U.N. you know, the ones involved in the oil for food scandal.

And not give the brainless hollywood 'do-gooders' a voice:

People like this who want to 'hug the terrorists' should be ashamed. They don't understand the evil we are up against, and how we have to go after them. NO, they want us to figure out what makes them tick.. i.e. psycho babble.. to win the war.
They have no clue who we are dealing with. The liberals should never be allowed to run this country, or we are toast.

Update: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has again stated he hopes Sharon dies and has exposed his wish for Isreal to get out and give up all their land. Does anyone get this yet?
How many times do I have to write about what this is really about. There will never be peace in the region because of meniacle people like him who want Isreal's land. That is what this war on terror is about. It is a religious war.

Sharon should never have given any land to the palestinians.(I am not saying that is why Sharon had a stroke like Pat robertson said...Sorry, but I can't stand Pat Robertson, I wish he would go away and quit acting like he is God). The Palestinians are dancing in the street because of his condition right now. You would think they would not like it because he is the only one willing to hand over his land. Sharon was a great leader in all the other areas except trying to make peace with these idiots.

That is why we need to keep doing pre-emptive attacks because of these wacko's. We are doing the right thing in the war on terror. The only beef I have is that we think we can make peace between Isreal and the Hitleresque jerks who want their land.

Serious or Suicidal

Below is an article by Thomas Sowell pictured to your left.

When you are boating on the Niagara River, there are signs marking the point at which you must go ashore or else you will be sucked over the falls. With Iran moving toward the development of nuclear weapons, we are getting dangerously close to that fatal point of no return on the world stage.

Yet there are few signs of alarm in our public discourse, whether among politicians, the media, or the intelligentsia. There is much more discussion of whether government anti-terrorism agents should be able to look at the records of books borrowed from public libraries.

The Iranian government itself is giving us the clearest evidence of what a nuclear Iran would mean, with its fanatical hate-filled declarations about wanting to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. But send not to know for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee.

Just last year, before the American election, Osama bin Laden warned that those places that voted for the re-election of the President would become targets of terrorist retribution.

We could ignore him then. But neither we, nor our children, nor our children's children will ever be able to ignore him again if he gets nuclear weapons from a nuclear Iran.

We will live at his mercy -- of which he has none -- if he can wipe out New York or Chicago if we do not knuckle under to his demands, however outrageous those demands might be.

We will truly have passed the point of no return. What will future generations think of us, that we drifted on past the warning signs, preoccupied with library records and with giving foreign terrorists the same legal rights as American citizens?

We could deter the nuclear power of the Soviet Union with our own nuclear power. But you cannot deter suicidal terrorists. You can only kill them or stop them from getting what they need to kill you.

We are killing them in Iraq, though our media seem wholly uninterested in that part of the story, just as they seem uninterested in the fact that the fate of Western civilization may be at stake just across the border in Iran.

Of course they would like us to prevent Iran from going nuclear -- if it can be done nicely by diplomacy, with the approval of the U.N., and in ways that do not offend "world opinion."

It is as if we were on the Niagara River and wanted to go ashore before it was too late, but did not want to turn on the motors for fear of disturbing the neighbors with excessive noise.

But at that point, the choice is between being serious or being suicidal.

That is where we are internationally today. Many years ago, there was a book with the title "The Suicide of the West." It may have been ahead of its time.

The squeamishness, indecision, and wishful thinking of the West are its greatest dangers because the West has the power to destroy any other danger. But it does not have the will.

Partly this is because most of our Western allies have been sheltered from the brutal realities of the international jungle for more than half a century under the American nuclear umbrella.

People insulated from dangers for generations can indulge themselves in the illusion that there are no dangers -- as much of Western Europe has. This is part of the "world opinion" that makes us hesitant to take any decisive action to prevent a nightmare scenario of nuclear weapons in the hands of hate-filled fanatics.

Do not look for Europe to support any decisive action against Iran. But look for much of their intelligentsia, and much of our own intelligentsia as well, to be alert for any opportunity to wax morally superior if we do act.

They will be able to think of all sorts of nicer alternatives to taking out Iran's nuclear development sites. They will be able to come up with all sorts of abstract arguments and moral equivalence, such as: Other countries have nuclear weapons. Why not Iran?

Debating abstract questions is much easier than confronting concrete and often brutal alternatives. The big question is whether we are serious or suicidal.

History Lesson

Happy New Year to all!

(My dad sent this to me in an e-mail. I have no idea who wrote this, but I thought it was worthy to pass on.)

As I was taught very early on. History began some 12,000 years ago...

Humans existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunter/gatherers.
They lived on wild game in the mountains during the summer & would go to the
coast & live on fish & lobster in winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer &
the invention of the wheel.

The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of
modern civilization & together were the catalyst for the splitting of
humanity into 2 distinct subgroups: Liberals & Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered it required grain & that was the beginning of
agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so
while our early human ancestors were sitting around waiting for them to be
invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were
formed. Real men spent their days tracking & harvesting wild animals to B-B-Q at
night while they were drinking beer.

This was the beginning of what is known as "the Conservative movement."

Other men who were weaker & less skilled at hunting learned to live off the
conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's & doing the sewing,
fetching & hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.
Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became
known as 'girleymen.'

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the
invention of group therapy & group hugs & the concept of Democratic voting
to decide how to divide the meat & beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most
powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the
jackass..

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white
wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well
done. Sushi, tofu, & French food is standard liberal fare.

Another interesting revolutionary side note: most of their women have higher
testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury
attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood & group therapists are
liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't
fair" to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat & still provide for
their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks,
construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate
executives, military men, athletes & generally anyone who works productively
outside government. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives
who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to "govern" the producers &
decide what to do with the production.

Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why
most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to
America. They crept in after the Wild West was tame & created a business of
trying to get MORE for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history. It should be noted that, unlike a Conservative, a die-hard Liberal will have an uncontrollable urge to fabricate a response to the above instead of simply
laughing and commenting on it.
